Los Angeles Wildfires - 2025
In response to the Eaton Wildfire, which destroyed over 9,400 structures and burned approximately 14,000 acres, GER3 deployed an assessment team to identify critical community needs. GER3 has been awarded a year-long grant to support early recovery and future mitigation efforts.
Together with the community, our team will be working on smoke remediation, debris removal, testing, home hardening, and fire-resistant landscaping. As we prepare to launch full implementation, we’ve been actively engaging with local partners, attending community-led events, and supporting the important work of fellow nonprofit organizations on the ground.
In our initial January deployment to the Los Angeles, the Los Angeles team has assessed numerous sites and communities for a long-term GER3 presence in the area. They also provided PPE and property reclamation supplies for over fifty families in the Altadena community. Such supplies included soil sifters, rakes, hazmat suits, shovels, and more.
